Community leaders have the opportunity to enhance their community’s ability to prepare for, respond to, recover from, and mitigate against all forms of disasters. This course will help to enhance understanding of natural disasters, risk assessment in the context of disaster management, prevailing emergency management procedures and operations, and the different vulnerability factors that exist within their local community. This course will also provide community leaders with an understanding of the necessary plans and tools needed in planning for natural disasters, and will help them to better understand and identify the personnel best equipped to address response and recovery requirements in the case of an actual disaster. The threat of mortgage fraud and identity theft crimes continue to rise, and all too often victims of these types of fraudulent activities are unaware their homes or identity have been stolen. While Property Fraud Alert does not prevent fraud from happening; it provides an early warning system for property owners to take appropriate actions should they determine possible fraudulent activity has taken place. It’s simple! Just enter your personal and/or business name and you will be notified when a document is recorded with your name match.
Link to a fraud alert you can register for with the County. Below he describes some scary ways that individuals can make fraudulent deed claims that could result in a property getting refinanced or sold fraudulently. The alert is a way people can sign up to have their name monitored within the Recorder’s office to track possible fraudulent recordings that affects their property.
